Asset management
An asset register your inspections keep honest.
Hovermarks is asset management built around compliance: every asset QR-tagged, every inspection stored against it, every due date chasing itself. The register is not a list; it is the audit trail.
Most teams come to us calling it different things: an asset management system, an equipment register, an inspection tracker. The job is the same. Know what you have, prove it is inspected, and answer an auditor in seconds. Here is how Hovermarks does that job.
An asset register with a QR identity per asset
Every physical asset you are responsible for (fire extinguishers, cranes and slings, fire doors, alarm panels, ladders, machines) gets its own record and its own QR label. The register holds identity, location, category, and ownership, imported in bulk from your existing spreadsheet or built as you tag.
Scan to the record, not to a search box
The QR label on the asset resolves straight to that asset's record. Whoever is standing in front of it (your team, a contractor, an auditor) scans and sees what the asset is, when it was last inspected, what was found, and when it is next due. No app hunting, no asking head office.
Service history that stays with the asset
Every inspection, examination, and defect is stored against the asset it belongs to, with close-out evidence and a verifiable certificate per examination. When equipment moves site, its history moves with it. When an insurer asks for the last examination of a specific hoist, the answer is a scan, not an afternoon.
Next-due dates per asset, not per spreadsheet
Each asset carries its own inspection cycle: 6-month and 12-month LOLER intervals, NFPA ITM tiers, monthly extinguisher checks, or your own scheme. Due and overdue work chases itself with reminders, and the dashboard shows the whole estate's compliance position at a glance.
Import in bulk, export any time
Bring an existing asset register in as CSV and tag from there. Export the register, inspection history, and certificate metadata as CSV or branded PDFs whenever you want, with per-tenant JSON export for full portability. Your asset data stays yours.
What Hovermarks is not
Hovermarks is not a finance-side EAM or IT asset discovery suite: there are no depreciation ledgers, purchase orders, or software licence scans. If the job is proving your equipment is inspected, safe, and audit-ready, this is the system. If the job is capitalisation schedules, pair Hovermarks with your accounting stack via CSV export.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Hovermarks an asset management system?
- Yes. Hovermarks is an asset management system built around inspection compliance: a QR-coded asset register where each asset carries its identity, location, service history, next-due inspection date, and verifiable certificates. It manages the operational and compliance side of assets rather than the financial side.
- What kinds of assets can I manage?
- Any physical asset with an inspection or maintenance duty: fire extinguishers, fire doors, alarm systems, lifting equipment and accessories (cranes, hoists, slings, shackles), ladders and access equipment, machines, and general facilities assets. Each asset type can use its own checklist templates and inspection intervals.
- Does Hovermarks replace a CMMS or EAM system?
- For inspection-driven compliance, yes: the register, scheduling, history, and certificates live in Hovermarks. It does not do finance-side EAM work such as depreciation, procurement, or spare-parts stock. Many customers run Hovermarks as the compliance record and export CSV into their finance or maintenance stack.
- Can I import my existing asset register?
- Yes. Bulk-import your register from a spreadsheet as CSV, then print and apply QR labels asset by asset. Export back to CSV or JSON at any time, so there is no lock-in on your asset data.
- How are assets identified in the field?
- Each asset gets a printed QR label carrying its unique ID. Scanning with any phone camera opens that asset's record: history, due dates, and certificates. Labels can be reprinted and reassigned under an audit trail, and a certificate's QR code can be verified by anyone you share it with.
